Church membership is practical commitment to a local church. This involves:
1 - Regular Attendance.
Hebrews 10:25. We meet not for our own benefit but for each others benefit
2 - Attitude toward others.
Forbearance Col 3:12-15: Making allowances for each others faults
Respect 1 Thess 5:12-13.
Submission Heb 13:17
3 - Use of gifts. Romans 12:4
4 - Free will offering 2 Cor 9:7-8.
Our giving will:
- Reflect our gratitude for god's grace 2 Cor 8:8-9
- Reflect our income 1 Cor 16:2. The fact that the first day of the week is mentioned shows that it is not just what was left over, this is pre meditated giving!
- Reflect the operational needs of the fellowship 2 Cor 9:12, 1 Cor 9:13-14
